Tian’anmen Square, literally known as the Gate of Heavenly Peace, is a large city plaza located near the heart of Beijing. The Square is in itself a museum that offers guests from Phoenix Palace Beijing Hotel a solid evidence of the China’s history and culture. It is the largest city square in the world occupying an area of 440,000 square meters (about 109 acres), and has a capacity 10,000,000 people at one time.

And these are the Monument to the People's Heroes at the center, the Tiananmen Tower in the north, the Mao Zedong Memorial Hall in the south, the National Museum of China in the east and the Great Hall of the People in the west.

Take Pleasure in Yuanming Garden

Just a few blocks away from the Phoenix Palace Beijing Hotel, the Yuanming Garden lies luscious and festive. It sites on the northwestern outskirts of the city, north of Beijing University and a few more walk, you can reach the Summer Palace. It was built during the Qing Dynasty over a period of 150 years and included three gardens: Yuanming Yuan, Changchun Yuan and Qichun Yuan. Each garden was laid out individually, yet in a way they complement each other in perfect harmony.


The gardens covered an area of about 340 hectares. The peaks of the Western hills formed the background as man-made hills and lakes were refreshing. Countless springs flowed, feeding small canals winding their way through lovely valleys. White marble bridges spanned the water here and there. And there stood among them is the Phoenix Palace Beijing Hotel amidst emerald green woods, so did halls, pavilions and temples.
